Flood Compilation Report on 25 August 2012

SITREP # 1: 29 August 2012 at 15.00 PM local time (UCT+7)

HIGH LIGHTS

• The Center for Health Crisis of Ministry of Health (CHC/MOH) reported

  1. On Saturday, 25 August 2012 at 21.00-24.00 Central Indonesia Time (UCT+8), a flash flood hit 5 villages (Gangga, Lemusa, Boyangtongo, Woobaru,and Olaya) in Parigi Moutong District, Central Sulawesi Province. The water level was 1 meter height and the transportation access from Parigi Moutong to Poso was disconnected.

  2. On Saturday, 25 August 2012 at 23.00 Central Indonesia Time (UCT+8), a flash flood hit 2 villages (Poboya and Talise) in East Palu Sub-district, Palu City, Central Sulawesi Province.

• Per 26 August 2012, 12.00 Western Indonesian Time (UCT+7), The Centre for Health Crisis (CHC) Ministry of Health (MoH) reported 4 persons died, 5 persons with minor injuries, 127 HH were displaced, 200 houses were inundated, 8 houses were swept by the flood, and 1 connecting bridge of Trans Sulawesi was in total cut off.

• The Parigi Moutong DHO evacuated the victims, provided medical services in Anuntaloko Hospital in Parigi Moutong District, and set up health posts in 3 areas (Gangga, Lemusa and Boyangtongo Sub-health centers), and prepared additional health post in Dolago Sub-health center;

• The Central Sulawesi PHO, Parigi Moutong DHO, and Search and Rescue Team form Makassar conducted assessment on disaster affected areas;

• The Central Sulawesi PHO provided medicines, water purified, and fortified biscuit, and coordinated with BNPB and Central Sulawesi BPBD;

• The Parigi Moutong requested assistance in kind of fortified biscuits supplies.

• The Talise and Singgani Health Centers in East Palu District set up health post;

• The Palu PHO conducted assessment on affected areas and standby for 3 days.

• The Parigi Moutong DHO, Palu DHO, Central Sulawesi PHO, Regional CHC South Sulawesi, and CHC/MOH are monitoring the situation closely.
